When I was a kid, I loved to collect things. I didn’t collect normal “kid collection” things like rocks or coins or Cabbage Patch Kids. I loved to collect stationary. I would totally hoard old Christmas cards, calendars, notepads, these amazing hardcover yearly planners that my dad used to bring home from work (they’d be leftover from the previous year, but I didn’t care).
My absolute FAVORITE stationary item to collect was business cards. Wherever we went, whether it was a doctor’s office or a car dealership or an expo/vendor fair (JACKPOT!), I would stuff my little denim purse and the pockets of my stone washed jeans with as many business cards that would fit, much to my parents’ dismay. I loved the different materials that the cards were printed on, the bold and unique logos, as well as the feel of the raised embossed lettering splayed across each one. They didn’t serve any real purpose to me- there really was zero reason for a 10 year old to have the contact information of 27 different real estate agents, but I just loved to have them.
Now as an adult, I may not still collect business cards, but I still have the same love affair with paper. This obsession is definitely one of the things that bonds Alicia and I together because she loves nothing more than a fresh notebook or a brand new box of notecards too. Along with freshly ground coffee and a good bottle of Moscato, we both have the greatest appreciation for good stationary and quality paper.
So when Alicia first shared Basic Invite with me, I immediately fell in love. Not only do they have beautiful cards for every occasion life tosses our way- showers, weddings, birth announcements, first birthdays, graduations and more, but they also have the most gorgeous business cards we have ever seen. What I would’ve done for some of these in my collection back in 1988!
You may be thinking business cards? Why would I need a business card? Well, listen to us...these aren’t your grandpa’s business cards. Sure, we live in a digital world where it seems like everyone’s information can be found on the Internet or in your phone, but believe us, having your own physical ‘calling card’ and not just a search result on Google can be a game changer. Basic Invite has almost unlimited color options and instant previews online! We had so much fun designing our Mom University business card. We can’t wait to hand them out to our potential sponsors and to include these gorgeous creations in our swag bags at the event. Not only do they have over 180 color options, but Basic Invite also has foil cards that are available in gold, silver and...wait for it...ROSE GOLD.
Basic Invite’s fun business cards are customizable- exactly what you need, no matter what your job is. From dog walkers to doctors, EVERYONE needs a card that they can hand out to leave a mark and grow their business. Personally, Alicia and I love when substitute teachers leave us their cards with all of their information on it. We are impressed by their drive and determination, and are much more likely to request them to come in for us on those crazy mornings when one of our kiddos wakes up with a 102 fever. Having the contact information for a great sub at our fingertips is priceless.
Where are all of our network marketing friends at? Do you have a high school senior or a college student? A perfect gift for these young people who are about to enter “the real world” is their own personalized card.
A lot of people think that business cards are only for people who are already working in the corporate world, but this is so not true! There is a huge benefit for students to have their own cards- in fact, it is especially important for young people who are networking and interviewing and trying to make the connections they need to further their careers after graduation (or beforehand if they are looking for internships). Building a personal brand begins now and nothing will make your “baby” look more professional than a business cards for students.
